Josephine Ampaw, LCSW, MFTC, MA

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

About Josephine Ampaw, LCSW, MFTC, MA

Being a Black and African cisgender woman grounds who I am and the space I co-create for individuals, couples, families, and communities. I approach my work through an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive lens that centers on the needs of my clients by celebrating and validating the experiences and wisdom they bring. My goal is to balance building a trusting relationship while creating space to think through the ways that our society and relationships impact our everyday lives. My training as a social worker, marriage and family therapist, and curriculum developer provide me the path to guide clients through the therapy process.

Even though parts of the therapy process are very uncomfortable and challenging, I believe in creating a comfortable and supportive environment that encourages trust-building and playfulness when appropriate. Creating space in therapy is a passion of mine because of my continued desire to encourage reflection, start with the strengths, and be a thought partner with clients. Please visit my website and contact me if our values and ways of approaching therapy align! I am excited to co-create this therapeutic space with you!

I will be available to receive individuals, couples, and families when I return from my maternity leave on February 3, 2025.
