MEET: ABENA OPOKU
Abena is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialty in Adult Crisis Mental Health. She has a strong dedication to serving her community. She founded a nonprofit in 2018 that has been providing weekly services to unhoused populations in downtown Houston for the past five years. Born to Ghanaian immigrant parents in Arlington, TX, Abena is the fifth of seven siblings. She is a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University and the University of Houston and is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

She also engages in weekly outreach through her nonprofit, F.R.E.S.H. (Finding Resources Everywhere and Spreading Hope), to help those in need.
